Traveling Vines Camisole

Pattern: Traveling Vines Camisole, VK Sp/Su '04
Yarn: Knit Picks Shine Sport (cream) 6 skeins
Needles: Addi Turbos US 3 and US 2

This yarn didn't really work with the cowl design, so I ripped it out and BO at the top.

When I tried it on, the neckline was too high, and I felt like I was being strangled, so I reworked the neck line again. When the pattern instructed BO for shoulders, I BO center stitches for neck and started short rows.

I used a US2 to do the finishing on the armholes.

I would have liked the body to armhole length to be longer. Instead of 11", maybe more like 13".
As you can see in the picture below, I'm wearing a tank top underneath...

it still looks good. i don't think i would have the patience to knit such a fancy stitch pattern into a garment. good job!

wow that's really cute! I like the lace pattern. I don't think I ever saw the original version, so I can't compare it to what you did, but I think your tank looks good on you!

Hi - I am trying to do the same modification of the neckline. What do you mean by short rows? did you bind off the center and keep knitting the shoulder stitches?

Yes. I bound off the center stitches. And then continued knitting the shoulder stitches (probably one side at a time) with short rows (wrapping and then turning) in order to get the gradual decrease. If you look closely at the picture it looks like I wrapped and turned after about 10-12 stitches - probably the number of stitches in the pattern repeat. Hope that helps.
